Beyond that, a dozen forgiving golf balls you won't mind losing, a glove, some tees and a comfortable pair of golf shoes will cover you. Don't spend big on balls early on, and don't worry about matching brands.

A few lessons with one of our PGA Professionals early on will save you years of grooving something that doesn't work, and it's the single best money a beginner can spend.
