Tri-Fold vs Single-Layer

A tri-fold towel folds into three sections and usually clips to your bag, giving you a dry patch to wipe hands and grips even after the outer layer's picked up some mud or dew. A single-layer towel is simpler and more compact, better suited to clipping onto a cart or trundler where space is tighter.

Materials

Microfibre towels are the most common choice today, lightweight, quick-drying, and effective at lifting dirt out of grooves without needing to be soaking wet. Cotton or waffle-weave towels hold more water and can feel more absorbent for wiping down clubs or hands in wet weather, though they take longer to dry out between rounds.
