Driving Range Mount Maunganui | Golf 360
Looking for a driving range in Mount Maunganui or Tauranga? Golf 360 is on Matapihi Road, directly across the road from Bayfair Shopping Centre, and we're open seven days a week.
Our range has 19 covered bays, all fully floodlit, so the weather and the time of year don't really come into it. Every bay has Foresight Sports Quad ball tracking built in at no extra cost, which means you can see ball speed, launch angle, spin rate and carry distance on every shot instead of guessing where it finished.
No membership, no booking, and beginners are genuinely welcome. Turn up, grab a bucket and hit some balls.
Driving Range Prices
| Small bucket | $14 |
| Medium bucket | $20 |
| Large bucket | $25 |
| Mega bucket | $40 |
If you're down here most weeks, a concession card at $200 works out considerably better than paying bucket by bucket. Ask the team in store or give us a call on (07) 572 0770 and we'll run you through how it works.
Do I Need to Book a Bay?
No. The range is walk-up only, so there's nothing to organise in advance. Pay for your balls at the counter in the shop, pick any free bay and away you go.
Weekday evenings and weekend mornings are our busiest periods. It's rare to wait long, but if you're on a tight schedule, mid-morning and mid-afternoon on a weekday are the quietest times to come down.
What If I Don't Own Any Clubs?
Not a problem, and it's a more common question than you'd think. We hire clubs by the club rather than by the set, so you only pay for what you'll actually use:
| Iron | $2 |
| Fairway wood | $3 |
| Driver | $5 |
If you're brand new to golf, a 7-iron and a small bucket is honestly the best way to start. It's the easiest club in the bag to make contact with, and you'll get far more out of the session than you would flailing at a driver.
Opening Hours
| Saturday – Tuesday | 9:00am – 8:00pm |
| Wednesday – Friday | 9:00am – 10:00pm |
We're open every day of the year except Christmas Day, public holidays included. You can find full details on our hours and location page.
Practising After Work and Through Winter
The bays are covered and the range is floodlit, which matters more in the Bay of Plenty than people expect. A wet July evening is still a perfectly good practice session here, and on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday we're open until 10pm for anyone who can't get down before dinner.
It also means your practice doesn't stop when the clocks change. Plenty of golfers do their best work over winter and turn up in September playing better than they finished the season.
What the Ball Tracking Actually Tells You
Every bay runs Foresight Sports Quad, and it's included in the price of your balls rather than being an upsell on selected bays.
The practical value is that it removes the guesswork. Most golfers are surprised by their real carry distances the first time they see them measured, and knowing that your 7-iron carries 145 metres rather than the 160 you'd assumed is the sort of thing that saves shots immediately. Spin rate and launch angle are where you'll see whether a change you're working on is genuinely helping or just feeling different.
You don't need to understand any of it to enjoy hitting balls. But it's there if you want it, and our team are happy to explain what you're looking at.
Can Beginners and Kids Use the Range?
Yes, and we'd encourage it. A driving range is a far less intimidating place to start than a golf course, and nobody here is watching you.
Kids are welcome with a parent or caregiver. If someone in the family is keen to take it further, our PGA Professionals run golf lessons and coaching for all ages and abilities.
More Than Just a Range
The range sits alongside the rest of what we do, so it's easy to combine a practice session with something else while you're here:
- Golf simulator studios – hire a studio for 30 or 60 minutes, up to five people
- Club fitting – launch monitor fitting with our PGA Professionals
- Lessons and coaching – beginners through to competitive players
- Mini golf – 18 holes, good for families and groups
- Club repairs and regripping – drop your clubs in while you practise
- Golf shop – clubs, balls, bags, shoes and accessories

Why Golfers Choose Golf 360
Golf 360 is locally owned and run from one site in Mount Maunganui. We're not a branch of a national chain, and that shapes how the range works.
Scott, our founder, is a PGA Professional who has spent around 25 years in the golf industry, and the team here are golfers first. If your ball flight is doing something you don't understand, there's usually someone a few bays away who can tell you why — and who'll give you a straight answer whether or not it involves buying anything.
There's a full workshop on site as well, so a worn grip or a lie angle that's a degree out can be sorted while you're practising, rather than boxed up and posted somewhere for a fortnight.
Most of the feedback we get is about the people rather than the gear. That's the part we're proudest of, and it's the reason a lot of Bay of Plenty golfers keep coming back.
Golf Lessons & Club Fitting
Looking to improve your golf or find clubs that genuinely suit your swing? Golf 360 offers professional golf coaching and expert club fitting under one roof.
Our coaching team includes three experienced golf coaches who work with golfers of all abilities, from complete beginners through to experienced players looking to lower their scores. Lessons are tailored to your individual goals and are a great way to accelerate improvement.
Golf 360 has helped thousands of golfers find equipment that better suits their swing. Using the same Foresight Sports technology found throughout our driving range, our experienced fitters can help you compare drivers, fairway woods, hybrids, irons and wedges to find the best option for your game.
Many golfers are surprised by how much difference properly fitted equipment can make. More distance, greater consistency and improved confidence are all common outcomes of a professional fitting.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you have left-handed hire clubs?
Yes. Our hire clubs are available in both left and right-handed, so left-handers aren't stuck.
Can I test clubs before I buy them?
Yes, and we'd encourage it. You can hit anything from the shop on the range or in a fitting bay, with the Foresight numbers in front of you rather than guessing off feel alone.
Can children use the driving range?
Yes. Juniors are welcome, although children under 14 should ideally be supervised by an adult.
Is the range open when it's raining?
Yes. In fact, some of our busiest days are wet-weather days, when golfers can't get onto the course.
Can I book a group or corporate event?
Yes. We regularly host social groups, corporate events and work functions. If you're planning a larger group visit, get in touch beforehand so we can make sure it runs smoothly.
